Downgrade was planned as an action side-scroller with gameplay similar to that of classic Megaman. The team consisted of independent developers working in our free time. While the concept and art had been developed out, the team eventually disbanded due to a lack of available time commitment.
During my time on this project I was lead enemy AI developer, handling the logic for each encounter. I used a combination of A* pathfinding and state-based logic to create a system where each enemy could have a specific behavior based on either their proximity to the player, the ground, or health-percentage. The result were dynamic enemies that reacted to the player.
This is a description of the project which you can find below. But in all honesty, you can probably write whatever you want in here. It can even be a secret love letter but you do whatever you want ok?
